Maggie Bob Makes: A return to papercraft

So, this is the first completed new card I’ve made in a while. That’s terrible, isn’t it? It’s been a combo of illness, lack of mojo/motivation and still not being happy with the set up of my crafting area in the spare room – it just doesn’t work for me (more on that later).

So anyway – I’m trying to get back in to it, and as it was my week to set the sketch over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp, it seemed as good a time as any.

The images on this come from a cute Me 2 U stamp set that I picked up ages ago, and both of the papers (including the stripe across the middle) are from an old PaperMania stack. No fancy techniques here, but I think this card says it all. I hope you folks like it, and I hope you’ll pop over to the challenge and join in!

Now – back to my crafting space. I’m very lucky to have our spare room to craft in (unless we have guests over), but it’s not making me feel very inspired at the moment. I have a lovely Ikea desk with a slim line drawer I can pop any WIP away in, I’ve got a tall bookcase, a set of A4 plastic drawers and a 3 drawer wooden chest of drawers. In all of this I’m trying to fit all of my papers & card (so plain colours, white card, card blanks, patterned paper stacks etc), ribbons, stamps, inks, pens, embellishments, buttons, scissors, glues, tools (including my Cuttlebug and dies) as well as my non-paper crafting things such as fabrics (I’m a fat quarter addict), threads, sewing kit, sewing machine, bits and pieces I pick up for gift hampers (candles, teddies, smellies etc), gift wrap and gift bags, general stationery, craft books and so on.

So, I’m asking for your help – has anyone got any inspiration on how I can store my stuff better? I currently have all my unmounted stamps in CD cases in a CD unit, which seems to work really well, but what other nifty solutions have you guys got? Please leave me a comment.
